Haematologist - Locum

The Opportunity

Prospero are currently working with a well-established private oncology provider that’s continuing to grow across NSW and Queensland.

There’s a clear need within Haematology, with patients already waiting to be seen and referral pathways in place. This means you won’t be starting from zero - you’ll be stepping into an established service with real demand from day one.

This could suit someone looking to pick up additional sessions alongside their current role, someone interested in short- to medium-term locum blocks, or someone considering a longer-term move into private practice who wants to try things out before committing.

Locations

Current opportunities are available across:

  • Moreton Bay (QLD)
  • Noosa (QLD)
  • Sunshine Coast (QLD)

There are also broader opportunities across NSW and QLD as services continue to expand.

Why the Locations Stand Out

  • These are genuinely great places to visit, live and work
  • Coastal locations with easy access to beaches, outdoor lifestyle, and good local infrastructure
  • A more relaxed pace of life, without giving up on professional opportunities
  • Strong and growing communities, with increasing demand for specialist services
  • Ideal if you’re looking to relocate, commute, or balance metro and regional work

What the Role Involves

  • A mix of clinic and ward work, depending on the site
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Stepping into an existing and active patient base
  • Being supported by experienced admin and operational teams, so you can focus on clinical care

Flexibility & Setup

  • Locum, VMO or permanent options available
  • Open to part-time or full-time commitments
  • Many doctors start with 2 days per week and build from there
  • 3-month locum blocks, with potential to extend
  • Option for week-on / week-off rotations
  • Telehealth available
  • Travel and accommodation are provided to ensure a smooth and seamless placement

  • There’s also the option of a 12-month salaried role with a transition into a VMO model if you’re looking for a structured move into private work.

Why This Stands Out

  • Step into an established patient base
  • Consistent patient demand
  • A supportive and collaborative team
  • Support to grow your private practice
  • Flexibility to shape your workload and lifestyle
